On the model side, Microsoft introduced seven new models, including MAI-Thinking-1, which it calls its first reasoning model. It says the model has 35 billion active parameters and a 128K context window for multi-step instructions, long-context reasoning, and code generation.

Microsoft also announced Microsoft Execution Containers (MXC) for safer agent execution on Windows, plus a companion app for setting up or connecting agents in a sandbox. Finally, it revealed Majorana 2, its next-gen quantum chip, which it says has qubits that are 1,000 times more accurate and keeps its practical quantum goal aimed at 2029.
